Every year, the employees and members of Bangor Federal Credit Union come together to collect non-perishable food items to benefit a local food pantry serving our community to help fight food insecurity. Running through the month of October, Bangor Federal's 2024 food drive benefited Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth.
Serving Hancock County (and beyond), Loaves & Fishes is one of the area's largest food pantries, serving over 7,100 individuals and over 2,800 families. Pantry usage is seeing annual increases of up to 70% each year with new families added every day. With a grocery store driven feel, and a garden outside providing fresh fruits and vegetables, the incredible team at Loaves & Fishes works tirelessly to battle food issues throughout Hancock County, doing so with no state or federal funding.
It was our pleasure to donate over 662 pounds of food and over $400 in donations to this wonderful food service in November of 2024. These totals are testament to the incredible generosity of our members and staff who donated their time, money, and effort, to make this food drive a major success. Thank you to each and every one of you who helped us aid Loaves & Fishes in their mission!

In a banner year, our team and membership collected an incredible 810 pounds of food and a check for $123 to help aid Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in battling food insecurity across Hancock County and beyond!

Our incredibly generous members and staff helped collect 640 pounds of food and a check for over $500 to help support Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth as they move into their new location to better serve the community!
