Each year the team at Bangor Federal Credit Union holds a golf tournament with participating teams, and sponsors, helping raise funds for our continued battle against food insecurity in our communities. This day out on the course marks our institution's single largest fundraising event for Ending Hunger on the year and has helped our institution raise over $100,000 since its inception.
We held our 12th annual Ending Hunger golf tournament at Rocky Knoll Golf Course in Orrington on September 10th. Thank you to all our great teams and generous sponsors for helping us turn a beautiful day on the links into a meaningful contribution to our community. Every dollar raised will be put to work with local food pantries and organizations helping those in need.
“It’s fantastic that we get to do this event to benefit these different organizations that battle food insecurity in our backyards. It’s a growing problem, and the partners we deal with, their need grows every single year. We anecdotally hear stories of how they’re adding a dozen new families to their roster every week. For us to come here and raise close to $10,000 in a single day, and then at the end of the year have $30,000 to $40,000 to distribute, it’s a really awesome thing.
